Full Circle Auditions
Tonight and last night I participated in Full Circle Auditions. Full Circle is an awesome awesome show in 3 weeks. It's a sketch show with entirely cast-written sketches. The audition process is very fun.
The first part if a questionnaire. The questions this time were "What are the names of five of Nora's toenails?" "What is Caitlin's horoscope for this month?" "And what is your favorite vegetable, and why?" My answer was, of course, coma people, 'cause they're fun to poke.
The next part involves a large list of words/phrases following the question. We have to write, and perform a monologue, using nine of the words, one from each list, and one line has to rhyme. Yesterday's monologue dealt with the Wonky-O Valentine's Day Rodeo, and today's was about an episode of You and Your Garden, and God.
Finally we have to read from a boring textbook, whilst they shout characters at you, such as "Santa Claus!" "Scotsman with a kilt on a windy day!" and "Your shoe is filled with yogurt!"
Today, we also played the improv game "Freeze."

Piano Lessons.
Quick summary of Piano Lessons THUS FAR:
I've been taking piano for a couple of weeks now. I'm progressing pretty well. I've progressed past "level one" in the first week, but I'm having a little more trouble with "level two." It's not too bad. I'm playing a much-simplified version of House of the Rising Sun. Next week I have a test, in which I have to play two songs, and the week after that is a small recital-thing.

Last weekend
I didn't do anything last friday. We ordered Cousin Vinny's for dinner. Then I just hung around the dorm, and did some homework. Later that night, I watched some of "Live Free or Die Hard," which is a good action flick, but not a good movie if you're looking for a sophisticated story or depth of character.
On Saturday, my original plan was to do worksite for Habitat, but it was canceled. Instead, I slept for a really long time. I then went to Wal*Mart and spent the rest of the day doing homework. I went and saw A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine. Afterwards, I had a bowl of Spaghetti-Os, and went to the cast party.
On Sunday, I slept for a real long time, then went to the Pancake Breakfast at the Studio apartment, and we watched "A Mighty Wind," which was an excellent movie. I then spent the rest of the day doing homework.

Major and Minor Considerations
My major is obviously computer science. I have never had any problem with that class, and I can get perfect scores without even paying attention.
I have taken two German classes so far (including the one that I'm currently in). Also I'm planning on going abroad to Germany the summer after this one. However, I don't think I'm going to do anything involving German as a career. So I figure this will be my last German class, as I'll then have enough for a minor.
I feel like I might like to get a minor in Visual Communication Design. I like creating graphics and using photoshop, and I do like my 2-D Design class, just not it's pace.

A Day In Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine
This was this year's musical!
This show had two acts, Act 1 titled "A Day in Hollywood," and Act 2 titled "A Night in the Ukraine." Act 1 was a musical tribute to the movie musicals of the 1930's, with songs such as "I Love a Film Cliche," "Famous Feet," and my personal favorite, "Doin' The Production Code," in which the cast tap danced the 1930 Hollywood Production Code. This contained a list of forbidden phrases in movies, such as "Hold your hat" and "Nuts" (except when meaning crazy), as well as the maximum length for a kiss (6 seconds). Although not as funny as the second act, this act was amusing, and featured many of the actors who did not have major parts in Act 2.
"A Night in the Ukraine" was a tribute to the Marx Brothers. Based on "The Bear," this show was transformed with the Marx Brothers' comedic timing. It was absolutely hysterical! The acting and comedy in this act was amazing, just like Reed's dimples. It was an excellent production.

Cousin Vinnie's
CV's is the best Pizza outlet here at the University of Dayton. Their best deal is called a "Big 10": A large pizza, a box of breadsticks, and two drinks for $10.14. They deliver mass amounts of this Pizza to the school every night.
The Big 10 is so popular in fact, that problems arise when someone orders something else. Alex Bonner wanted to order 2 boxes of breadsticks last night. Here's the phone conversation:
"Hey, I'd like two boxes of breadsticks with marinara sauce, please"
"...2 Big 10s?"
"No, just two boxes of breadsticks."
"..."
"Is that okay?"
"Sure...give me a minute, I need to get a price check on these."
Later, when the delivery arrives:
"Hey, did you get CV's?
"Yeah, man."
"..."
"Is there a problem?"
"Yeah, I think we forgot your pizza and drinks..."
"No, man, that's really all I ordered."

Without a Paddle
I'm legit, I wrote this yesterday.
This movie was on TBS tonight, so I just had to watch it. Earlie, I was talking about "clever comedies." This is not one of them. However, although it does rely somewhat on cheaper jokes, I thoroughly enjoy this movie. It does have an interesting story.
I think what draws me to this movie is it's base as a canoe trip. I have gone on several canoe trips with the man scouts, and they were some of the best times of my life. I had so much fun on the trips, and it's great to see someone make a movie about it. It also makes the jokes so much funnier.

Class summary thus far:
HST 103:
This class is just like I thought it would be. It is very precise and we always do exactly what's on the syllabus. I don't find it that hard.
CPS 151:
This class is one of my most boring classes. I spend all my time doing homework for another class.
GER 312:
This class is simultaneously easier and more difficult than 311. The teacher doesn't make us do nearly as much work. However, I feel like she expects us to know more than Dr. Mosher did. Also, with only 5 students now, it's much more difficult to make stuff up.
PHL 319:
Boring. We're talking about Plato and Aristotle and their views on Ethics.
REL 103.:
Pretty cool class. We had a birthday celebration for one of the students yesterday. The class doesn't look too difficult at all, however, we have our first quiz tomorrow. Luck to me!
VAF 112:
Also boring. For the last 4 days (12 hours) we've been making designs with 2 squares and 3 circles to represent the words "dominance," "trapped," "opposition," and "individuality." I've been done for a while.
MUS 399:
Piano rocks! WOOO!

DIC vs. On the Fly
There are two groups of improv comedy at the University of Dayton: The University of Dayton Improv Club, and On the Fly improv.
UDIC (puns intended) is the group that I'm involved with. We meet for 2 hours every Sunday, and do improv games in a low-stress environment. It is a great confidence and skill builder, and a lot of fun as well.
On the Fly improv is a more elite comedy groups. They do many shows throughout the year. They're very good. Unfortunately, I'm not at the level to audition for them yet.
